During the academic year 2025/2026, the following seminar activities were carried out:
On 17 February 2026, Dr. Eleonora Frasca (researcher and lecturer in EU law at the Charles De Visscher Centre for International and European Law at the Université catholique de Louvain – UCLouvain, Belgium). delivered a seminar titled “Temporary by name, permanent in practice? The CJEU interpretation of the Temporary Protection Directive for displaced persons from Ukraine”, within the course The EU External Action and the Challenges of the Eu Enlargement, analysing the Court of Justice’s approach to temporary protection.
On 9 March 2026, as part of the course The EU External Action and the Challenges of EU Enlargement, coordinated by Prof. Sara Poli, an interactive seminar entitled The EU’s Anti-Corruption Ambitions-Capability Gap in the Eastern Neighbourhood was held with Dr. Mihai Corman (Adviser for Public Sector Reform presso GIZ) as guest speaker.
The seminar provided students with an opportunity to examine the European Union’s approach to combating corruption in its Eastern Neighbourhood, focusing in particular on the gap between the EU’s ambitions and its capacity to effectively promote and enforce anti-corruption standards. Through an interactive format, students engaged with the challenges faced by the EU in advancing the rule of law and democratic reforms in the context of the enlargement process.
