Simone Marinai

Simone Marinai (expert) has been associate professor of EU law at the University of Pisa since 2014.

He has obtained the national scientific qualification for Full Professor in International Law in 2023. He has been teaching the course of EU law since 2005. He has an extensive record of publications on different aspects of EU law and international law. He has given speeches on the war in Ukraine and on the different forms of protection for Ukrainians fleeing the war on different occasions at the University of Pisa, for the Contact Point Ukraine of the Bar Association of Pisa, for the Bar Association of Leghorn, for the Union Internationale des Avocats in collaboration with the Foundation for Forensic Training of the Florence Bar Association. In 2020 he has published a study on new mechanisms to respect the rule of law in the EU.  In his last co-edited book with Sara Poli, dedicated to the EU on the international arena and its the internal and external challenges and transformations, two of the chapters concern the enlargement of the Union.
